Volvo ADT + K-TeC
K-Tec ADT Series Scrapers have are designed for moving material behind a 40-Ton Volvo Articulated Dump Truck. Contractors may gain versatility from using their existing fleet of Volvo Articulated Dump Trucks to pull a K-Tec scraper unit for precision grading, leveling, and site preparation. The K-Tec ADT scraper provides an effective earthmoving solution for contractors to minimize capital investment, maintenance, labour, and fuel costs.
K-Tec scrapers have been working efficiently with Volvo 25, 30, 35, 40 Ton Power-Unit Series D, E, F, F-FS, G, G-FS.
All K-Tec ADT Series scrapers feature fast hydraulics, a smooth ride, and joystick control. The scrapers are also capable of being packaged in a 40 ft. (high-cube) container for overseas shipping.
The procedure of converting a Volvo Articulated Dump Truck into a K-Tec scraper hauler is logical and 100% reversible.
- Begin by disconnecting hydraulic hoses and cylinders and removing the dump box off of the chassis of the Volvo ADT unit. This first step takes approximately 2 hours with an appropriate lifting crane.
- The second step is to attach the scraper unit. This starts with installing a bolted K-Tec ADT hitch onto the rear of the truck frame. The scraper may then be locked in to the hitch, and all scraper operational hydraulics may then be plumbed into the existing ADT hydraulic system. This second step takes approximately 3 hours for a trained service technician.
- Should the Volvo ADT unit need to be converted back to a dump box application, the scraper hydraulics can be disconnected and removed along with the bolted ADT hitch. The box may be reinstalled back onto the chassis and the original hydraulics and cylinders may be reconnected for dump box functionality within an estimated timeframe of 5 hours.
